Gary Lee Williams, 72, of Wadsworth, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer.
Gary was born on May 10, 1950, in Akron to Chuck and Juanita (Raines) Williams. He graduated from Norton High School in 1968 and attended Akron University. Gary worked for B.F. Goodrich doing their signage and then owned and operated Retail Renovations until 2017. He married the former Rhonda Sue Lambert on Oct. 24, 2009, and for 9 years he and Sue owned Ghost Alley Lanes in Wadsworth, where they made many friends.
Gary was a member of the Studebaker Club, Vintage Motor Bike Club and the Avanti Club. He enjoyed golfing, watching football, renovating and collecting old scooters and pedal cars and he loved cats, especially his boy “Jack”.
Surviving are his wife, Sue; step-daughters, Denise (Chris) Miller and Renee Hakim; grandchildren, Roger, Mason, Bradley and Halle; brothers, Mark (Becky) Williams and Craig (Lisa) Williams and nieces, Christy Hopkins and Nicole Williams.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra (Coleman) Williams in 2005; his father, Chuck Williams, his mother and step-father, Juanita and Howard Fessler; his grandparents, Orval and Osie Raines, who helped raise him and his in-laws, Jim and Betty Lambert.
Services will be Sunday, May 7th at 5:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, where friends may call from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Medina County SPCA, 8790 Guilford Rd., Seville, OH 44273.
