Gary E. Weltmer

Gary E. Weltmer, 82, of Fredericksburg passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Aultman Hospital in Canton after a brief illness.

Gary was born on June 13, 1939 in West Salem to the late Zeno E. and Marguerite (Gardner) Weltmer and married Helen L. Sigler on Nov. 30, 1958.  He retired from Rubbermaid, Inc. and had made his home in Fredericksburg since 1970.  Gary was a member of the NRA and the Shreve Farmers Sportsmen Club.  He loved shooting sports and had done cowboy action shooting contests and he enjoyed camping, boating and riding motorcycles.

Surviving is his wife, Helen; son, Christopher Weltmer of Fredericksburg; daughter, Lisa Marie Chupp of Fredericksburg; daughter-in-law, Donna Weltmer,  7 grandchildren including adopted granddaughter, Misty (Tony) Shinn who he and Helen raised and 9 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Edwin and Kevin and son-in-law, Raymond Chupp.

Services will be Monday, June 13th at 12:00 noon at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Josh Ware officiating.  Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 until time of services at 12:00.  Contributions may be made to the funeral home, PO Box 187, Fredericksburg, OH 44627 to help with final expenses.
