Gary Lynn Crow

Gary L. Crow, 72, of Creston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Lexington Court Care Center on Thursday, July 28, 2016 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Gary was born May 16, 1944 in Ravenna to the late Edward and Fannie Crow and was a 1963 graduate of Norwayne High School. On June 14, 1964 he married the former Virginia “Ginny” Reed and she survives. He retired from Consolidated Freight after 12 years of service and had previously worked for Bender-Loudon Freight for 20 years. Gary loved long distance trucking which took him across the country. Gary enjoyed traveling with this family, attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events and he was always working around the house, doing lawn work and doing remodeling projects. Gary had made his home in Creston most of his life and was a member of the Canaan Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife Ginny; his children, Todd (Brenda) Crow of Gladstone, MI, Amy Crow of Lexington and Chris (Jim) Sanfrey of Worthington; his four grandchildren, Jimmy and Celeste Sanfrey and Jared and Megan Crow; brothers and sisters, Carl Crow of Yuma, AZ, Bobby (Pat) Crow of Stow, David Crow of Columbus, IN, and Denny (Peggy) Crow, Jo (Ryan) Weston and Jill Hall all of Marion and nieces and nephews. Gary was also Grandpa “G” to Liam, Kayla and Nolan Krueger. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bill, Ronnie, Larry and Dick Crow. Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Creston with Revs. Larry Richeson and Travis McKenzie. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston and one hour prior to services at the church.
