Gail Lyn Stephens Burns of Melbourne, FL and most recently of Creston, OH passed away quietly on Wednesday, Oct. 16th at Altercare of Wadsworth after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 49.
Gail was born Nov. 11, 1969 to Harold Stephens of Creston and Kathleen Carlan of Homer, GA. Gail spent most of her life in Florida where she worked as a quality control specialist. She loved the theater, gospel music, and riding her trike especially for the Great Cycle Challenge which is for kids with cancer. But most of all, she loved her son.
Gail is survived by her parents, Harold and Norma Stephens of Creston and Kathleen Carlan of Homer GA; partner, Thomas Gilliam of Melbourne, FL; her beloved son Mitchel Burns of Melbourne, FL; sisters Melissa Burns (Lee) of Sturgis, MI, Suzanne Hetzel of Littleton, CO, Michelle Cagel (Andy) of OH and Desiree Kintyhtt (Chris) of Walhalla, ND, many nieces, nephews and a few great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her little brother, Daniel Kintyhtt, her step-dad, Ray Carlan, and her grandparents.
Gail’s wishes were to be cremated and to have a memorial services which will be held at Rittman Community Freewill Baptist Church, 346 N. Main St., Rittman, OH on Saturday, Oct. 19th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, 7301 Ohms Lane, Suite 355, Minneapolis, MN 55439 or to any Children’s Cancer Fund.
