Fredrick Lee Cook Sr., 71, of Wooster passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton after a brief illness.
He was born on Oct. 31, 1949 in Chillicothe to Ralph F. and Kathryn J. (Walsh) Cook and married the former Diana Brobst on March 25, 1972. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970 having served in Vietnam. Known as “Fast Freddie” he retired from Accent Glass in Columbus, OH and had made his home in Wooster for the past 20 years. He loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and attended Christian Harbor Church in Orrville. Fred was a huge Ohio State Football Fan and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving is his wife, Diana; his 3 children and their spouses, Fredrick L. Jr. and Linda Cook of Findlay, Rachel and Aaron Still of Orrville and Kathryn and TJ Mathes of Howard; 11 grandchildren, Ben, Isaac (Skylar) Samuel and Elijah Cook, Kayla Franks, Audrey, Makenzie and Tyler Still and Emma, Travis and Alana Mathes; twin great-grandson, Jaxson and Liam Cook and brothers and sister, Ruby LeVally, Archie (Jeri) Jude, Lacey Jude, Paris Jude, Dreama Beverly and Terry Cook.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Kathryn and Warren Jude, his father, Ralph Cook and a sister, Diane Downer.
Services will be Thursday, May 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Michael Harding officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
