Francis Ray Cool, 81, of Medina, passed away on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 surrounded by his family at Medina Hospital.
Ray was born on March 6, 1940 in Webster Spring, WV to the late Foster Law and Lydia Viola (Brooks) Cool. A log and steel truck driver, Ray retired from Independent Steel in 2005 and had made his home in Lafayette Township for the past 28 years. He was a member of Lafayette United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and was a true outdoorsman. He loved hunting and spending time with his family.
Ray will be greatly missed by his wife, Ellyn (Rhoades) Cool who he married on Aug. 28, 1995; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Barta and grandchildren, Autumn, Mandy, Jonathan and Steven; son, Tom Cool and grandsons, Tommie Jr., Jeffrey and Jacob and daughter and son-in-law, Alaina and Kenny Germann and grandson, Kenneth Jr. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren with a great-grandchild on the way, two great great-grandchildren; brothers, Carvil (Sally) Cool and Robert Cool and a sister, Irene Walter.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ireda Dunkley and Shirley Addams and brothers, Roy and Marvin Cool.
Services will be Saturday, Aug. 28th at 4:30 p.m. at Lafayette United Methodist Church, 6201 Lafayette Rd., Medina, with Pastor Jeremy Roseberry officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 4:30 p.m. at the church.
