Evelyn Robinson, 80, of Creston, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 4, 2023 after a period of declining health.
Evelyn was born on Oct. 22, 1942 in East Lynn, WV to Shiloh and Lucy (Casteel) Watts and graduated from Wayne High School. On June 22, 1959 she married Roy E. Robinson and they moved to Ohio just barely out of their teen years. Evelyn and Roy worked at local businesses before Roy became a successful carpenter and Evelyn finding her success in real estate sales. She sold many people in Wayne County their first homes while working at several real estate agencies, the last being Real Estate Showcase for over 20 years. Evelyn and Roy spent many winters in Florida and he preceded her in death just two weeks prior to her passing on May 21, 2023. They are now together again. Evelyn loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending almost every sporting event and their graduations and weddings. She was extremely fortunate to have her children make their homes and raise their families in Creston. Both Evelyn and Roy took pride in their home, making it a showplace with many flowers gardens. Red roses were always Evelyn’s favorite. She loved going to garage sales where she never spent of 25 cents and Evelyn is remembered for never having met a stranger in her lifetime.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Brian and Sue Robinson, Brenna and Alaska Hall and Bradly and Becky Robinson all of Creston; grandchildren, Anna Roller, Jennifer (Brian) Mocko, Joe Robinson, Elizabeth (Nathan) Winningham, Nate (Liana) Robinson and Brett Hall; great-grandchildren, Sterling, Brooks, Lacey, Iris, Sloane, Ryder and one on the way; a brother, Charles and Barb Watts of South Carolina and a sister, Leiza Crosley of Boston, MA.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Roy, an infant son, Kenneth; grandson, Tyler Edward Robinson, her parents and a brother, Kenneth Watts.
Services will be Friday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Canaan Township Fire and Rescue, PO Box 2223, Creston, OH 44217 or to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
