Elwood Kitts, 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Welsh Home in Rocky River after a period of declining health.
Elwood was born on Oct. 24, 1930 in Fort Gay, WV to the late Sidney and Hattie (Watts) Kitts and married the former Alma Gregg on June 29, 1951. She preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 2018. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 – 1953 and retired from Yellow Freight where he had been a mechanic. Elwood was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Creston and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting trees and gardening.
Surviving are his daughters, Deborah (Bill) Polk of North Olmsted, Judy Kitts of Fairview Park and Sharon (Chris) Arndt of West Lake; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and brothers and sister, C.B. (Patty) Kitts of Jamestown, KY, Jackie Sid (Marla) Kitts of Rockford, IL and Anne Spurlock of Wayne, WV. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and brothers and sisters, P.T. Kitts, Frank Kitts, Laeuna Stiltner, Kathryn Parsons, Sue Perry and Mary Thompson.
Services will be Tuesday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church, 12723 Cleveland Rd., Creston, OH where friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
