Edward Lawrence Kester

Edward Lawrence Kester, 75, of Rittman, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Autumnwood Nursing Center in Rittman after a period of declining health. Ed was born in Glen Ridge, NJ on March 20, 1947 and was the son of the late Arthur and Victoria (Conradt) Kester.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1972 during the Vietnam War. Ed was passionate about music, he played the piano & accordion and had worked for 20+ years as a radio DJ in Georgia. He was well known by his on-air name, K.C. Edwards, which was the name he took from his daughter’s initials, Kelly Cristina. He also DJ'd wedding receptions, birthday parties, school dances etc. In addition to music, he loved fishing & would enjoy his time on a pond in any season. He was also a huge sports fan, played fantasy sports & watched it any chance he had. He later worked for Sterling Jewelers. Ed had made his home in Georgia prior to moving to Rittman.

Surviving are his daughter, Kelly of Tifton, GA; grandchildren, Tristan Rutland & Dalila Sanchez; brother, Art Kester of St. John, FL ; sister Florence Schmitt of Tamarac, FL and his loving wife, Phyllis Kester of Rittman.
