Edith M. Burgess, 80, of Burbank, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 15, 2021 after a Princess Warrior’s fight against cancer.
Edith was born Feb. 15, 1941 in Springfield, IL to the late Herbert and Martha Sylvia (Butler) Bratcher and graduated from Butler County High School in Morgantown, KY. On Feb. 2, 1961 she married John Tony Burgess and he survives. Mrs. “B” retired from Norwayne Local Schools after 25 years of being the Preschool Aide and her love for all her many kids will be forever remembered. Edith was a member of the Burbank Road Church of Christ. For over 30 years she helped set-up and stage music programs for the Country Ramblers and other groups that Tony was a member of and she was a member of the Ohio Western Music Assoc.
Surviving are her husband, Tony; sons, Robert Tony Burgess of Cedar Rapids, IA, Kevin Dwayne Burgess of the home and Terry Allen (Delaine) Burgess of Wooster; grandchildren, Bobby, Christine and Jessica; great-granddaughters, Scarlett and Madison and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, William, Sonny, Clem and Robert Earl and a sister, Delphia Bratcher Adkins.
