Donna Sue Lanning

Donna Sue Lanning, 75, of Rittman, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Summa of Barberton Hospital following a lengthy illness. Donna was born Jan. 29, 1941 in Newton Falls to the late George and Gladys (Mobley) Haynes and married Gerald Henry Lanning on May 26, 1962. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1997. A resident of Rittman most of her life, she graduated from Rittman High School and enjoyed painting and watching the birds. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Bill Lewis of Cartersville, GA; a son, William Joseph Lanning, a daughter-in-law, Gloria Lanning of Salem, OH; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Pam Haynes of Rittman. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Gerald Keith Lanning and brothers, Fred and Keith Haynes. Graveside services will be Monday, Dec. 19th at 11:00 a.m. at Rittman Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Griffith officiating. There will be no calling hours. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
