Donna Jean Kast, 75, of Rittman, passed away peacefully at Barberton Summa Hospital on Monday, April 13, 2020 after a brief illness.
Donna was born Jan. 14, 1945 in Lodi to the late Milton “Dutch” and Marie (Long) Blough and was a graduate of Norwayne High School. On Sept. 25, 1976 she married Gabriel Kast and together she and Gabe enjoyed 43 years of marriage. Donna retired from Truckstops of American after 30 years of service and over the years she enjoyed football, animals and wildlife. She loved to watch the birds and had a sentimental love for loons and their voices. She enjoyed rock-n-roll and country music and had a special love for Pink Floyd. Donna loved her family with a passion as well as her pets, Gunner, Star and K.C.
Surviving are her husband, Gabe; daughter, Heather and Andrew Yannayon and granddaughter, Sarah Yannayon of Wadsworth; son Lance and Deborah Simpson and grandchildren, Daniel, Jacob, Anne-Marie and John Simpson of Carrolton, GA: sisters, Virginia Boggs and Sharyn Blough of Seville and Mary and Scott Stachler of Creston; brother, James and Donna Blough of Wadsworth and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Allen Simpson, her parents; brothers, Milton “June”, Donald, Clayton and Bruce Blough and sister, Eva Hatten.
Private services will be held Monday, April 20th at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Mark Teal officiating. Inurnment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
