David G. Williams, 73, of Creston, passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2020 at his home after a battle with cancer.
Dave was born on June 16, 1947 in Bickmore, WV to the late Andy and Reba Ethel (Bills) Williams and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1965 – 1969. He retired from Verizon Communications in 2001 after 30 years of service and for the past 12 years was the delivery specialist for Seville Flower and Gift. Dave was a member of the Creston Moose Lodge, Wadsworth Eagles and the Wadsworth American Legion and was an avid collector of Zippo Lighters.
Surviving are his wife, the former Kimberly J. Smith; his children, Andrew Williams, Alina (Adam) Koontz, Alexandra (Tyler) Williams and Annette (Matthew) Yoder; son-in-law, Chris Figley; his grandkids, Ethan and Sara Figley; a sister-in-law, Betty Williams and many friends and the Smith family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacie Figley; brothers, Gary James “Wooze” (Karen) Williams, Billy Williams, Luther “Junior” (Liz) Williams and a sister, Dianne (Gene) Lance.
Services will be Monday, Nov. 16th at 11:30 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Don Trigg officiating. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
