David Jackson Metheney

David Jackson Metheney, 92, of Creston, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020 at his home after a period of declining health.

Dave was born Oct. 2, 1928 in Clay Co., WV to the late Samuel and Dorothy Virginia (Lyons) Metheney and married the former Rosalee Rose on Jan. 28, 1951.  He retired in 1989 from Ford Motor Co. after nearly 35 years of service and had made his home in Creston since 1955.  He was a member of Grace Cathedral in Akron and was a good mechanic having enjoyed working on cars.

Surviving are his wife Rosalee of nearly 70 years; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jackson and Nancy Metheney of Norton and Vincent and Colleen Metheney of Cuyahoga Falls; sisters, Mary Taylor of Creston and Geneive Nichols of Perry and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Chaney, Dayton and Dorsel and sister, Letty Jane Kennedy, Etta Belle Carte and Icy Haag.

Family services will be held with Rev. Steve Millar officiating.  Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens and Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
