Daniel J.C. Schlabach, 96, of 9139 County Road 201, Fredericksburg, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, May 1, 2020.
Dan was born Sept. 5, 1923 near Millersburg to the late Jacob C. and Sadie (Tice) Schlabach and married Mattie M. Troyer on Feb. 7, 1946. Mattie preceded him in death on Nov. 5, 2018 and they shared 72 years of marriage. He was a member of the New Order Amish Church.
Surviving are his children, Menno Schlabach of Millersburg, Oma Schlabach of the home, Amanda (Melvin) Petersheim of Gordonville, PA, Fannie Miller, Verna Schlabach and Jake (Arlene) Schlabach all of Millersburg, Paul (Ruth Ann) Schlabach and Allen Schlabach both of Fredericksburg and Rachel Schlabach of Millersburg; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Wengerd and Ruth E. Schlabach both of Millersburg; brother, Alfred Schlabach of Fredericksburg and sister-in-law, Emma Schlabach of Sugarcreek.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a daughter-in-law, Sarah R. Schlabach; a grandson, Timothy James an infant grandson, sisters and brothers, K. Oma Schlabach, Christian (Emma) Schlabach, Olen (Ella) Schlabach, Fannie Marie Schlabach, Calvin (Nettie) Schlabach, Alvin (Ella) Schlabach, Effie Bertha Schlabach, infant Bartley Schlabach and Jacob Jr. (Lovina) Schlabach and a sister-in-law, Mattie Schlabach.
Services will be Monday, May 4th at 9:00 a.m. at Diamond Door, 9039 Township Road 601, Fredericksburg with Bishop Jerry Miller officiating. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes Co. Friends may call Saturday, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Diamond Door. Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
