Charlie Scaggs, 88, of North Ridgeville and formerly of Creston went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 after a period of declining health
Charlie was born in Chapmanville, WV on April 24, 1934 to Edwin and Elva (Adams) Scaggs and married Anna Marie Pridemore on July 4, 1955. She preceded him on Feb. 22, 2013 and they are together again.
Charlie retired from General Motors and was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church where he enjoyed being a part of the Canaan Silvers Charlie loved people and always enjoyed helping others.
Surviving is his 3 children, Gregory (Joy) Scaggs of Lorain, Sherry (Jim) Lucas of North Ridgeville and Tammy (Dave) Butcher of Valley City; 4 grandchildren, Ryan (Cassie) Lucas, Alyssa Lucas, Kara (Dom) Vecchio and Brandon (Samantha) Butcher; great-granddaughter, Emmeline Francine Lucas; a sister, Iva Squires of Cleveland and niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; a sister and ten brothers including his twin brother, Frank Scaggs who died May 20, 2022.
Services will be Friday, April 14th at 2:00 p.m. at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church with his nephew, Pastor Aaron Justice officiating. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145. The family extends their deepest appreciation to Stephanie and Tim Bowen who loved and cared for Charlie for the past 2 1/2 years in their home.
