Carol J. (Irvin) Carpenter

March 25, 1942 ~ June 25, 2021 (age 79)


Carol J. Carpenter, 79, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2021.

Carol was born to Virgil and Esther (Murray) Irvin on March 25, 1942 in Wooster, Ohio. She became a Radiologic technologist at Akron City Hospital and moved to Florida where she spent the majority of her life working her way up to a Supervisor of Radiology. She met her husband Leon Lance Carpenter in Florida and they were married for 48 years. They lived in several cities in Florida as well as Anderson, SC for a time. She recently returned to Wooster to be near her family. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Donald Irvin and her husband, Lance.

She is survived by her step-children, Ronald Carpenter and Audrey Schmitz; granddaughter, Mary; her sister, Pauline Reese; nieces and nephew, Amy (Bob) Macak, Joy (Lewis) Hinkel, Tom (Stacy) Reese and Molly (Keith) Hill; sister-in-law, Erma Irvin and nieces, Cathy (Jeff) Coffey, Donna Schwartz and Patty (Dick) Kitson and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews and 2 great great-nieces. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Edward (Elizabeth) Carpenter, nieces and nephews Kathy (Mark), Karen (Jerry), Ken (Holly) and Kevin (Lacey) and sister-in-law, Joy (CP) Taylor and nephew, Derrell (Erin) and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will occur on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Murray Funeral home, Creston, Ohio from 1-3 pm with a service of remembrance being held at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Eastern Ave. Baptist Church PO Box 701209, St Cloud, FL 34770-1209.  Tributes may be shared at
