Bettie Mae Petri

Bettie Mae Petri, 93, of Wooster passed away on Saturday, April 15 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home in Millersburg after a lengthy battle with Dementia.

Bettie was born in Ashland on April 10, 1930 to the late Clifford and Esther (Kiser) Fox. She graduated from Wooster High School in 1948 where she was a member of the Girlʼs Athletic Association for four years. In 2007, she was inducted into the Wooster High All-Sports Hall of Fame.

Over the years, Bettie enjoyed being a member of bowling, golf and tennis leagues. She enjoyed playing Euchre, watching the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. Bettie had a great love of dogs, especially Labrador Retrievers. She also enjoyed going to the Casino with her friends, Karen and Judy.

She was formerly married to Donald K. Gant, who was the father of her three children. He died in 2014. In 1986, she married Leroy Harsh. He preceded her in death in 2000. In 2004, she married Tony Petri. He preceded her in death in 2011.

Surviving are her children, Becky (Don) Orr, Robin (Tim) Bowman, and Jack (Heidi) Gant; grandchildren, Kyle (Melissa) Orr, Tyler Orr, Christina (Jonnathan) Echeverria, Abby Bowman, Mason Bowman, Trevor Gant and Megan Gant. And great grandchildren; Piper and Lainey Orr, Kaden Echeverria. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Clifford “Bud” Fox and James Fox. Private family services will be held.
