Bernard Richard "Dick" Kollert

Bernard R. “Dick” Kollert, 87, of Sterling, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Orrville Pointe after a period of declining health.

Dick was born on July 8, 1934 in Sterling to Ora and Mary Katherine Kollert.  He had been an independent  truck driver for 35 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union.  Dick always loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandkids and great-grandkids.  He enjoyed tinkering, watching and being with his son’s animals and time spent outdoors.

Surviving are his children and their spouses, Becky and Dave Ryan of Big Prairie, Rick and Dee Kollert of Newnan, GA, Mike and Carma Kollert of Sterling and Matt Kollert of West Salem; 8 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a sister, Linda Gray of Wooster.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy, his parents and sisters and brothers, Beverly Artrip, Harold Kollert, Maybelle Strickland, Elaine Artrip and Donnie Kollert.

Services will be Monday, June 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.  Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
