Anita Kay (Cromer) Chambers

Anita Kay Chambers, of Smithville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at LifeCare Hospice at the age of 59 years.

Anita was born on March 20, 1963 in Barberton to Thomas G. and Linda L. (Burkhart) Cromer and graduated from Calvary Christian Academy in 1980.  She later graduated from the Akron Institute with a degree in Medical Transcription.  On June 5, 1982 she married the love of her life, James W. Chambers, III and he survives.  Anita had worked at Wooster Community Hospital and Dunlap Hospital in Orrville as a Medical Transcriptionist.  She and Jim were Foster Parents for 10 years and Anita deeply loved children and caring for her family.  She enjoyed music and had attended Wooster Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving is her husband, Jim; her children, Rachel and Jimmie Gillespie of Lynchburg, VA, J. Nathaniel and Casey Chambers of Wooster and Mia Grace Chambers of the home; her three much loved grandchildren, Noah James, Malachi and Joy Gillespie; her parents, Tom and Linda Cromer of Cinnamon Lake; brothers, Ken and Jaymie Cromer of Cinnamon Lake and Tom Jr. and Grace Cromer of West Salem; a sister, Anna and Doug Burchett of Ellet and her father-in-law, James and Margaret Chambers of Smithville.

A celebration of Anita’s life will be held on Friday, Feb. 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at Wooster Church of the Nazarene, 3100 Oak Hill Rd., Wooster.  A private family burial will be held at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
