OBITUARY

Angela Leanne (Oliver) Vail left her earthly body behind October 16th, 2021 due to complications from breast  cancer.

Born April 4th, 1961, Angi grew up as a Norwayne Bobcat, graduating in 1979.  She was a flag girl in the marching band, played bass clarinet in the concert band and was a speedy relay member of the track team.  She began her chemical engineering studies at The University of Akron, completing her freshman year, but was involved in a car accident in May 1980 that nearly took her life.  After a long recovery she pursued a new endeavor, completing some additional course work at Akron U. before embarking on her chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, GA.

At Life University she met the love of her life, Ben Vail IV, and they graduated together in 1985.  In 1987, they married in Birmingham AL and in 1990 they welcomed the love of their lives, Ben Vail V.  Adventures took them to Colorado for several years, where they unfortunately lost their newborn Natalie at birth in 1996.  In the late nineties their Ohio family was happy to have them living in Creston for a few years, after which they returned to Alabama for the remainder of her life.

Angela was a USATF track official in Alabama, officiating with her husband at many meets through the years.  She loved to sew, read and she loved her football, whether pro or college.  An Alabama fan in the same house with Ben, the Auburn fan… you can imagine the tension for the Iron Bowl games.

She is survived by her husband Benners Vail IV of Guin, AL, son Benners Vail V of Birmingham, AL, mother Nancy Noletti Wise (Ken) of Burbank OH, step-mother Roz Oliver of Des Moines IA, father-in-law Benners Vail III, brothers Brad (Julie) Oliver of Westfield Center OH and Chad Oliver of Des Moines IA, sister Chris (Bob) Diehl of Wooster OH,  aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dozens of cousins.  She loved her family, friends, and any holiday, especially Christmas.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents Umbert and Marjorie Noletti, Delbert and Thelma Oliver, father Jim Oliver, sister Jennifer McCarthy, and her newborn daughter Natalie Vail.

In lieu of a traditional service, a celebration of her life will be held next Spring to remember our amazing daughter / sister / wife and soul mate / aunt / friend.

Memorial contributions to honor Ang should be made to Hospice of Alabama, as they were instrumental in giving Angela a comfortable and peaceful exit from this life.   Hospice of Northwest Alabama, 1315 US-43, Winfield AL 35594.
