Alyce Mae Yannayon, 77, of Creston, died peacefully at Burbank Parke Care Center on Sunday, March 1, 2020 after a period of declining health.
Alyce was born Feb. 11, 1943 in Sterling to the late John and Ruth (Reed) Weahry and was a 1961 graduate of Norwayne High School. She retired from Westfield Companies after 43 years of services and had made her home in the Creston area most of her life. She was a life member of the Creston Moose Lodge 1224 and was a member of the Wadsworth Eagles. Alyce had bowled over the years on several leagues and was a Cleveland Indian fan and an Ohio State Buckeye fan. She loved to flower garden and her cats but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandkids.
Surviving are her2 daughters, Tracy and husband Mike Hanzie and Tonya Yannayon both of Creston; grandchildren, Tyler Hanzie and Taryn and husband Tyler Mills; great-grandchildren, Trevyn Hanzie and Troy Mills; a brother Rick and companion Brenda Weahry of Burbank; sisters-in-law, Joan Moran, Jeanne Weahry and Linda and husband Paul Weaver and special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold, Kenneth, Jack and Bobby and sisters, Joanne Glessner and Janet Weahry.
Services will be Friday, March 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
