William B. Sims

William B. Sims, 82, of Seville passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, after a long illness. William was born in Sutton, West Virginia on March 21, 1942, to Ralph Sr. and Vesta (Jenkins) Sims. He was a graduate from Sutton High School. William married Sandra K. Canfield on November 21, 1961 and they have shared the past 62 years together. William worked at Eaton Tinnerman for over 20 years where he enjoyed his job. After retirement he proudly worked for Weaver Industries. While he wasn’t working William could be found reading western novels, tending to his garden, watching Cleveland sports, or spending time with his family who were his greatest pride and joy.

William is survived by his wife Sandra Sims; children Dewayne (Susan) Sims of Medina, Michael (Kelly) Sims of Medina, Kristina Sims of Seville, and William “Todd” (Jennifer) Sims of Brunswick; grandchildren Tyler, Jesse, Matthew, Kyle, Sarah, Logan, Jacob, and Jared; great-grandchild Charlotte and brothers Ralph Simms Jr. and Carl Sims. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marie and Mary Margaret, and his brother Richard.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 31 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, a funeral service will be held immediately following at 6:00 pm.  Burial will take place on Thursday August 1, at Cox Cemetery in Birch River, West Virginia.
