William Lee Plank

William Lee Plank, 86, of Tequesta, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 9, 2024, while visiting family in Ohio.

William was born on January 4, 1938, in Lodi, Ohio to Paul and Dorothea (Grissinger) Plank. He was a graduate of Tri-State University in Indiana where he received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. After college, William moved to Florida where he found a job working as an engineer for Pratt & Whitney where he retired from after 40 years.  He then worked part time as an engineer at Florida Turbine Technologies. When he wasn’t working, William liked bowling and he loved being outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and playing softball. He also loved sitting out on his back porch, relaxing and watching the animals. William was an active member of the Citizens on Patrol group partnering with the Tequesta Police Department where he had been a member for over 14 years. He was also a very active member of the Renewal Church in Jupiter, Florida.

William is survived by his children, Paul (Meredith) Plank, Penny (Hank) Nagel, Tracy (Dave) Dau, and Shane (Lauryn) Plank; grandchildren Daniel, Chelsea (Ryan), Holly (Dave), Brooke, Kailee (Tanner), Kirsten, Brandon, Samantha, Makaylah, Rilynn, Rachel, and Levi; great-grandchildren Todd and Tanner; brother Bob (Susan) Plank and sisters Annette Baldridge and Betty Jo (Dick) Wiles.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Beacon Baptist Church 11616 Indiantown Rd Jupiter, FL 33478. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Renewal Church at 1022 Community Dr, Jupiter, FL 33458 or to Pleasant Hill Outdoor Camp at 4654 Pleasant Hill Road Perrysville, OH 44864.
