William E. Morris

William E. Morris, 82, of Wooster, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Smithville-Western Care Center after a brief illness.

Will was born on July 11, 1939 in Flint Springs, KY to the late James Ellis and Sophia Rae (Butler) Morris and married Gloria Jean Cleckner on Feb. 13, 1958.  He retired from Wooster Iron & Metal in 1995 where he had been a crane operator.  Will accepted the Lord many years ago in Gilstrap, KY and in his younger years enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and he loved mowing and caring for his yard.

Surviving are his wife, Jean of 64 years, daughter, Beth Geiser of Wooster; daughter-in-law, Dawn Morris of Cabot, AR; granddaughters, Angie (Bobby) Smith of Cabot, AR, Megan (Dwayne) Griffith of Ward, AR and Kristen Geiser of Orrville; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dwight Morris of Wooster and a sister, Carolyn (Jerry) Pertee of Smithville and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, William “Bill” Morris Jr., infant son, Scott Alan Morris, and brothers and sisters, Leona Daugherty, James Morris, Edith Snodgrass, Lucille Caldwell, Vendal Morris, Ruby Uhler, Faye Pertee and infant sister, Jerlene.

A service for family only will be held on Saturday, April 16th at 10:00 a.m. Murray Funeral Home with viewing at 9:30 a.m.   Pastor Eric Fairhurst will officiate the service.  Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
