William Frederick Massie, age 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Wayne County Care Center on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Bill was born on Feb. 11, 1946, in Lodi to David A. and Evleyn P. (Schultz) Massie and attended Norwayne High School. He was blessed with the gift of music and had played the piano and organ at several churches over the years including his home church, Creston Community Church. Bill had made his home in Burbank and Creston most of his life and enjoyed flowers and gardening, cooking and collecting stamps and coins.
Surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Lynne Massie of Wooster; sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Neal Chaffin of Creston; nieces and nephews, and their spouses, Angela and Randy Steiner, Joshua and Amy Chaffin, Janixa Chaffin and Joseph and Isa Chaffin; great-nieces and great-nephews, Olivia and her husband Joe Hart, Ben Steiner, Noah Chaffin, Isaac Chaffin, Gabe Chaffin, Giada Zarlengo, Marianna Preast, Genesis Chaffin and Gracelyn Chaffin and a great-great nephew, Landon Hart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald David.
Services will be Sunday, June 28th at 4:00 p.m. at Creston Community Church, 111 Sterling St, Creston, OH 44217, with Pastor Josh Chaffin officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Burial will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Creston Maple Mound Cemetery.
