William Henry King, 90, of Creston, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 in the comfort of his home.
Bill was born Feb. 10, 1926 in Neffs, OH to the late Charles and Barbara (Ruble) King and married the love of his life, Beulah Jean Webb on Oct. 22, 1943. She survives. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II from 1944-1946 and retired from the Packaging Corporation of American in Rittman in 1988. He had made his home in Creston since 1958 and was a member of Canaan Free Will Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed fishing, gardening, listing to Polka music and tractors. He is remembered for his whit and ingenuity, caring for his brothers and sisters and for being a loving, caring and wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will forever be the head of King’s Acres.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; children, Daniel (Bonnie) King or West Salem, Kathleen King of Creston, Philip (Alicia) King of San Antonia, TX and Alice (Steve) Arnold of Creston; 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, William Henry Jr. and John Robert, brothers, Homer, Herman, Elwood, John and Clarence and sisters, Marie Linter and Nancy Hemming.
Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 14th at 12:00 noon at Canaan Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jim McComas and Mike Gladson officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston and one hour prior to services at the church.
