William F. “Bill” Cover, 71, of Burbank, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 while working in his garden.
Bill was born Sept. 2, 1945 in Lodi to the late W. Frank and Violet (Norris) Cover and was a 1963 graduate of Black River High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 – 1967. On May 20, 1983, Bill married the former Brenda Farren and she survives. He retired after 37 years from Travelers Insurance and had made his home near Burbank since 1984. He was a member of the N.R.A. and the American Legion. Bill loved gardening and working in his yard and he enjoyed vacations at the beach, trips to Tennessee and old cars and trucks. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda; son and his companion, Mitch Cover and Lorna Metsker of Creston; step-sons and their wives; David and Danielle Posten of Rittman and Brad and Mary Beth Posten of Shreve; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sisters and brothers; Joyce Burgess of Wooster, Jean (Rick) Hinton of Creston, Steve (Lynda) Cover of West Salem, Ron (Joyce) Cover of Ashland, Liz (Les) Crumley of Burbank and Terry (Dave) Burss of Massillon and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Danny, Dennis and Bryan.
Friends may call Sunday, June 11th from 2-4 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Brad Ingram will officiate. Burial will be Monday, June 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
