William Alexander Brinkerhoff

William A. Brinkerhoff, 83, of Millersburg passed away on Monday evening, May 9, 2016 at Sycamore Run Nursing Home following a period of declining health. He was born Dec. 26, 1932 in Fredericksburg to the late Arthur and Ruth (Steward) Brinkerhoff and married the former Dorothy Stutzman on Nov. 20, 1955. She preceded him in death on June 29, 2009. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951 – 1955 and had worked in construction having worked for Jones, Lytle and W.T. McKee Construction Companies. He had made his home in the Fredericksburg/Holmesville area most of his life and was a member of the Moorhead Mennonite Church. Surviving are his children, Arthur Brinkerhoff of Newcomerstown, Diane (Daryl) Yoder of Uhrichsville and Jennifer (Scott) Young of Sugarcreek; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Harriet Lemon of Holmesville and a brother Max Brinkerhoff of Shreve. He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter Connie Adkins, a son John and a brother George. Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Pastor Marc Hochstetler officiating. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery where military honors will be held. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
