Wendell David Mcfadden

August 27, 1939 — April 19, 2021

Smithville

Wendell David McFadden, 81, of Smithville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness.

Wendell was born Aug. 27, 1939 in Wooster to the late David R. and Marie (Hooley) McFadden and was a 1957 graduate of Norwayne High School.  On Jan. 15, 1961 he married the former Patricia “Patty” King and they recently celebrated 60 years together.  Wendell was a retired bricklayer having worked for C.A. King and Bogner Construction and was member of Bricklayers Local 7.  A faithful member of East Chippewa Church of the Brethren for 70 years, he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Youth Advisor at the church.  Wendell loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, and he enjoyed playing board games and building campfires.  He will be remembered for having a big heart and a smile that lit up the room and for always being ready to help others in need.

Surviving is his wife, Patty; daughters and sons-in-law, Katrina and Seng Sisouphanh of Rittman and Sharon and Jimmy O’Bryan of Bartow, FL; grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Jessica Sisouphanh, Tyler Sisouphanh, Meghan and her husband Phillip Schoch, Lauren O’Bryan, Justin Sisouphanh and Morgan O’Bryan; great-grandchildren, Lila Mai and Kaiden; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Jerry Lowe of Creston and a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Vickie McFadden of North Carolina.

His parents preceded him in death.

Services will be Friday, April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at East Chippewa Church of the Brethren with Pastor Brad Kelley officiating.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to services at the Church on Friday.  Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com  Memorial contributions may be made to East Chippewa Church of the Brethren, 7207 Chippewa Rd., Orrville, OH 44667.
