David Webster Lee Blankenship, 79, of Wooster, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, and has now been reunited with his beloved son, Matthew.

Web was born on Sept. 24, 1946, in Canton to David E. and Dorothy Irene (King) Blankenship. He was self-employed for many years and was an entrepreneur who established several different businesses over the years. He had a love for cars and Native American History which led him to making and selling Native American jewelry which he greatly enjoyed. Web loved animals, especially the family cats, Woody and Miss Kitty, and he was a volunteer at the Wayne County Humane Society. Being with with his sons and grandkids were cherished times and Web will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

On Sept. 29, 1998 he married the love of his life, Jo Anne Miller and she survives along with his sons and daughters-in-law, David S. and Cathy Blankenship of Chatham and Alan C. and Jodi Blankenship of Concord Township; his grandchildren, Brad and his wife Catherine Blankenship, Tyler Blankenship, Patricia Andrews, Emma Blankenship and Lucy Blankenship; great-grandchildren, Landyn, Bryor and Adalynn; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie and Neal Silvers of Watsonville, CA and Deb and George Hughes of Orrville; sister-in-law, Debbie Blankenship of Ellenton, FL and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Dorothy, his son, Matthew and a brother, Dwight Blankenship.

Services will be Monday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Seville Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
