Wayne A. Schlauch, 83, of Chippewa Lake, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 at Medina Hospital after a period of declining health.
Wayne was born on Oct. 21, 1940 in Barberton to the late Elmer and Eileen (Harter) Schlauch and graduated from Westfield High School in 1959. On June 24, 1961 he married J. Carol Borland and they shared over 63 wonderful years together. He had been an engineer at Cornwell Tools, had operated two, East of Chicago Pizza Shops, and retired from Seville Bronze where he had many friends. Wayne was a man who loved the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, boating on Lake Erie and playing golf. He enjoyed his time on his farm where he raised cattle and horses and he and Carol enjoyed traveling, having taken many trips. Wayne was a member of Church at the Lake United Methodist Church.
Surviving is his wife, Carol, son, Wayne Schlauch; grandchildren and spouses, Micha and Sara Schlauch, Patrick Schlauch, Leyha and Jake Garrett, Lauren and Steven Cortez, Robert and Samantha Schlauch and Ryan Schlauch; 9 great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters, Clifford Schlauch, Carol Pamer, Bruce Schlauch, Kathy and Terry Leedy and Robin Baxter and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kimberly Schlauch, his parents and brother-in-law, Ed Pamer.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Sept. 24th from 2-4 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston where services will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Ken Rambo officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church at the Lake UMC, 7824 Lake Rd., Chippewa Lake, OH 44215.
