Walter Stanley Lloyd

March 24, 1935 — January 31, 2017

Walter S. Lloyd, 81, of Parma passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 at Burbank Parke Care Center following a period of declining health.

Born in Wayne County, WV on March 24, 1935 to the late Reuben and Ethel (Thompson) Lloyd, Walt served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958. He retired from Holland Trucking having previously worked for John Klann Trucking and was a member of Teamster Local 407. He was a member of Unity Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, fishing and gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Wilma Ann (Chapman) Lloyd whom he married June of 1981; children, Ricky A. (Sharon) Lloyd of Kingston, TN, Walter “Jimmy” (Cindy) Lloyd of Farragut, TN, Jerry Ray (Melissa) Crockett of Burbank, Trina (Chris) Torgerson of Parma and Michael (Michelle) Crockett of Cleveland; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren ; brothers, Max Lloyd of Brunswick, Harry (Esther) Lloyd or Olmsted Falls and Haskel “Hack” Lloyd of Brook Park and nieces and nephews. Brothers, Marion and Chester and a sister Ruby Pack died previously.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home, 173 S. Main St., Creston where Rev. Phillip Chapman will conduct services on Monday at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina Co., 5075 Windfall Road, Medina, OH 44256
