Vivian Gaye Wallace, 83, of Wooster, died Monday, March 11, 2024 at Smithville-Western Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Vivian was born on July 23, 1940 in Hylton, KY and was raised in the loving home of Bevin and Mattie Childers. She was the youngest of 12 children, all who have passed previously with the exception of her dear sister, Eleanor. She graduated from Elkhorn City High School in 1958 and on Aug. 29, 1958 married John Paul Wallace. They settled in Orrville and were blessed with two children, Greg and Julia. Vivian worked as a hair stylist and at Smuckers in Orrville and Rubbermaid, Inc. She was a member of Fredericksburg Church of Christ and was a wonderful seamstress and loving wife, mother and "Mimi".
Surviving is her husband, John; her daughter, Julia Wallace of Wooster; granddaughter and her husband, Amanda and Adam Girvin of Wooster; great-grandsons, Henry and Archie; daughter-in-law, Carla Wallace of Wooster and her sister, Eleanor Little of Shelby Gap, KY.
Vivian was preceded in death by her son, Greg Wallace.
A celebration of Vivian's life will be held at a later date and she will be buried at Cook Cemetery, in Ashcamp, Ky. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellspring Hospice, 3905 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH 44053.
