Vernon Marcum Jr., 62 of Creston, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2021 at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Cleveland on March 16, 1959 and was the son of the late Vernon Sr. and Betty (Friend) Marcum. He graduated from West Tech High School in Cleveland and retired from Tyler Elevator in Independence after 30 years of service. Vernon was a member of the Iron Workers Union and his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandkids.
Surviving is his son, Joshua (Chrystal) Marcum of Creston; daughters, Jamie (Dominic) Sbroglia of Parma and Danielle (Cody) Aikens of Parma; his grandchildren, Lyric and Aydin Marcum, Alexandria, Dominic, Alexis, Melia and Lilah Sbroglia and Cody and Aubrey Koballa; a brother, Mike (Patty) Marcum of North Carolina; sisters, Denise (Ernie) Wilson of Millersburg, Lisa (Don) Johnson of Doylestown and Tanya Marcum of Wooster and nieces and nephews.
His parents and a brother, David preceded him in death.
A celebration of Vernon’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 30th from 2-4 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with a dinner following at Creston Moose Lodge. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
