Thelma Keltz Schall

Obituary:

Thelma M. Schall, age 80, of Pine Island, Minn. passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. Thelma Marlene Keltz was born on April 23, 1936 in Canaan Township, Wayne County, to James W. and Flora Duella (Kemerer) Keltz. She grew up in the Creston area and attended local schools. On May 8, 1954 she married Kenneth Gasser. Together they farmed and later divorced. On August 5, 1988 Thelma married John Schall. They lived in Ohio, Wisconsin, Texas and Pine Island. Thelma worked for Morton Buildings as a secretary and later in the sales department. Thelma enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, decorating cakes and her beloved dogs. Thelma is survived by her brother, Dwight Keltz of Rittman, OH; sons, Terry (Deb) Gasser of Zumbrota, MN, Larry Dean Gasser of Richmond, IN, and Mike (Pam) Gasser of Smithville, OH; five grandchildren, Rodney (Rita) Gasser, Todd (Dawn) Gasser, Adam (Melissa) Gasser, Travis (Rachel) Gasser and Carli (Drew) Gump and seventeen great-grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2013, granddaughter, Emily Newbegin, two sisters, Mildred Dravenstott and Helen Gwin and six brothers, Edwin, Harry, Charles, James, Donald and Woodrow. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Murray Funeral Home in Creston where friends will be received from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the services. Inurnment will be in Jackson Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Pine Haven Care Center, 210 – 3rd St. NW, Pine Island, MN 55963.
