Susan Kay (Winkler) Gianfriddo

Susan Kay (Winkler) Gianfriddo passed away January 16, 2024 after suffering a severe injury from a fall.

Sue was born May 21, 1941 in Lodi, Ohio to Paul C. and Lillian (Shrock) Winkler of Creston, Ohio, who have predeceased her. On Jan 28, 2003, Sue and Dr. Leo Michael Gianfriddo were married.  Sue was a 1959 graduate of Norwayne High School. She was a skilled and talented musician (with perfect pitch), who received a BA in Music Education from Baldwin Wallace College and a MA in Music from the University of Michigan. Shem taught Vocal and Instrumental music for more than thirty year beginning in Tiffin, Ohio and later in Farmington and Livonia, Michigan. Sue retired from Livonia Public Schools in 2006.

Sue and Lee loved to travel. Sue sang in the Dearborn Community Chorus. Her hobbies were reading, exercise, and crossword puzzles. She was a lifelong Methodist and served musically in each church she attended.

Besides her loving husband Lee, she leaves two children to mourn her loss: Ryan Shah and Tiffany (Shah) (Mike) Radford, and three grandchildren, Ava, Nicholas, and Christopher Radford. In addition she also leaves her step daughter, Dr. Michelle Gianfriddo of Evanston, Ill. Sue will be sadly missed by her two sisters Janice (Winkler) Schar, Reston, VA and Paula (Winkler) Adkins, Loudain County, VA.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Sue’s life will take place at a later date yet to be announced.
