Steven Adkins, 76, of Creston, passed away on Friday Jan. 2, 2026, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina after a brief illness.
Steve was born on Oct. 24, 1949, in Wayne, WV and was a proud Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1969 - 1971. He had been a welder at Stahl Truck Bodies in Wooster and in his retirement, he worked at Miller Brothers in Lodi. He was a member of the Farmers Sportsmen Club in Canaan. Steve was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and working of John Deere equipment. He also enjoyed collecting knives and guns.
Surviving is his wife, Ada (Green) Adkins, children, Stephanie, Heather, Amber, Loretta and Jim; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother Dennis Adkins of Paintsville, KY and nieces and nephews including, Bill and Angie Bucy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia (Adkins) Ramey; his grandparents who raised him, Henry and Pinkie Adkins; son, Mack, son, David and a brother, Larry Adkins.
At Steve’s request, there will be no services. His wishes were to be buried with his grandparents at the Bowen Cemetery in Wayne County, West Virginia.
