Steve D. Dickson

Steve Douglas Dickson Sr., 76, or Smithville, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026, peacefully after a lengthy illness.

Steve was born on December 12, 1949, in Parsons, TN to Charles and Francis (Houston) Dickson. He was a 1970 graduate of Springfield High School and served in the U.S. Navy from Dec. 15, 1972 – Nov. 18, 1974. On May 9, 1976, he married Sharon Jordan and they shared 50 wonderful years together. Steve worked as a long distance semitruck driver and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He had attended Orrville Baptist Church for many years. When he wasn’t working Steve enjoyed playing pool, boating, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughters, Tammy (Brian) Polen, Kimberly (Erik) Stueckrad and Becky (Dwayne) Quinn; son, Steve Dickson Jr.; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Jaci and Sherry; brothers, Jeff, Mike and Denny; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Harry and Macel Jordan and sisters-in-law Joyce and Audrey.

Funeral Services will be Monday, August 3, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
