Stephen Ray Buheit, 70, of Creston, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Steve was born on May 31, 1956, in Wooster to Paul and Leila (Miller) Buheit and graduated from Norwayne High School in 1975. He had been a machinist at Bosch Rexroth in Wooster and had made his home in Creston all his life. Steve was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster and over the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing on Lake Erie, cooking, gardening and canning. Steve always loved his cats and dogs that he had over the years and he will be truly missed.
Surviving is his mother, Lee Buheit of Creston; brother, Jonathan Buheit of Wooster; brother-in-law, Galen Yoder of Wooster; nieces and nephews, Maria (Darren Geiser) Yoder, Monica (Bruce) Eudy, Mark (Kristie) Yoder and Michael Yoder and great-nieces and great-nephews, Meredith Geiser, Vinsen, Ava, Lincoln, Ella and Ryker Eudy and Barrett and Easton Yoder.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Paul, brother, Albert Buheit, and sister, Mary Ann Yoder.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 29th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wooster. Burial will be in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.
