Shirley J. Lonsbury

Shirley J. Lonsbury, 66 of Wooster, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster following a courageous eight year battle with cancer.

Shirley was born May 14, 1950 in Wooster to the late Harold and Betty (Parker) Boyes and married James Lonsbury on November 27, 1967. He survives. She had worked at Ramseyer Potato Farm and had made her home in the Creston area most of her life. She was member of the Canaan Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers, caring for her barn cats, and vacations to Myrtle Beach. She is survived by her husband; her children, Kimberly (Jeremy) Schaad of Sterling, Kevin (April) Lonsbury and Chris (Kristin) Lonsbury both of Creston; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Bob) Reed of Burbank, Linda (Wayne) Corp of Rittman, Yvonne (Melvin) Smith of Looneyville WV and Dawn LaMaster of Scottsburg, IN; brothers, Harold Boyes of Waynesburg and Dale Boyes of Wadsworth and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Roberta Holcomb. Services will be Monday, Jan. 30th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev. Travis McKenzie officiating. Burial will be at Canaan Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
