Sandra Jean Yursa

Sandra Jean Yursa, 61, of Medina, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Samaritan Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Sandy was born on October 25, 1963 in Charlestown, WV to Oma Jean McCune and Harold Pearson.  She had worked as a nurse’s aide and in the kitchen at the Avenue at Medina and Samaritan Care Center.  Sandy loved gospel and country music, and she always enjoyed having company.

Surviving are her children, Eric Yursa and Michelle Yursa both of Cleveland; a grandson; brothers and sisters, Tammie (Mike) Townsend of Wooster, Terry (Larry) Lepley of Rittman, Betty Hicks of Rittman, Larry (Christine) Hicks of Polk, John Hicks of Rittman, Jim (Mary) Pearson of Wadsworth and Beverly (Tom) Brezina of Burbank and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Oma and Johnny Booher; her father, Harold Pearson and a brother, Timothy Pearson.

Services will be Wednesday, May 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Pastor Johnny Castle officiating. Burial will be in Rittman Cemetery.  Friends may from 10:00 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home for final expenses.
