Ruth E. (Martin) Brown

Ruth E. Brown, 92 of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at West View Healthy Living following a period of declining health

Ruth was born in Fredericksburg on June 6, 1928 to the late Willis and Mary Belle (Wear) Martin. She was a graduate of Fredericksburg High School and graduated from nursing school in Fairview Park in 1949.  On Nov. 4, 1951 she married George E. Brown and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2001.  Ruth retired from Wooster Community Hospital after 30 years of service and had lived most of her life in the Fredericksburg area. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Wooster and the Women’s Circles and the Mt. Nebo Housekeepers Club.

She is survived by her children Cheryl Ann (Don) Abernathy of Fredericksburg, Paul (Triesta) Brown of St. Paul, MN, Helen Brown of Mansfield and Lois Brown of Fredericksburg; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and a brother, Roger Martin of Wooster.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard and Duane Martin; a sister, Norma Brown.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Aug. 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Fredericksburg East Cemetery with Pastor Sheri Ayers officiating.
