Ruth Maxine Kissinger, 99, of Seville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 at Brookdale of Medina South.
Ruth was born on Aug. 13, 1925 in Seville to Russell L. and Martha Estella (Freudiger) Zigler and was a 1945 graduate of Seville High School. On April 11, 1981 she married Murray L. Kissinger and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2005. Ruth retired from Westfield Companies in 1985 after 32 years of service and had been a dispatcher for Seville EMS and a volunteer at Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. She was a member of Seville Presbyterian Church. Ruth enjoyed traveling, camping, taking cruises, watching sports, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians and playing cards.
Surviving are her children, Richard (Peggy) Murray, Dennis Murray, Scott Murray, Sharon (David) Crist and Brian (Elizabeth) Murray; daughter-in-law, Kathy Murray; step-daughters, Beverly Hewit, Nancy Hoskinson and Margaret (Danny) Cavallaro; step-daughter-in-law, Ingrid Kissinger; 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren; a brother Gene (Marylee) Zigler and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray Kissinger; daughter, Linda Armstrong; son, Galen Murray; a grandson, Tyler Crist; brother, Vernon Zigler and sister, Norma Hershey.
Services will be Friday, Jan. 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Seville Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bob Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Seville Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 16th from 4-7 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seville Presbyterian Church, PO Box 63, Seville, OH 44273 or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
