Rosalie Johnston, 95, of Creston, passed away, Wedneday, August 22, 2018 at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
Rosalie was born Dec. 20, 1922 in St. Paul, MN to the late Samuel and Elsie (Greene) Montean and married Robert D. Johnston who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 2001. After high school she worked as a nurse’s aide for one year and later graduated as a Registered Nurse from Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul and the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. She completed her RN training through the Nursing Cadet Corp Program in place during WW II. For 17 years she worked Northwest Orient Airlines as a Stewardess and later worked at Wooster Community Hospital for 2 years, had worked as a home health nurse and at Westview Manor Nursing Home for over 12 years. Rosalie and her husband enjoyed traveling from Coast to Coast and through Canada in their RV. She traveled around Ohio and Pennsylvania every month with the Miller Sisters bus group and served as secretary for the group’s weekly meetings. She attended Jerusalem Lutheran Church
Surviving are her step-daughter, Barbara, step-son, Gregory and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, step-son, Jeffery and sisters and brothers, Marie, George, Samuel, Theodore and Virginia.
Rosalie requested no services. She will be buried with her husband at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. Murray Funeral Home in Creston is handling arrangements.
