Rosalee Ellen Metheney

Rosalee Ellen Metheney, 89, of Creston, went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2022 while at her home surrounded by her family.

Rosalee was born on Sept. 23, 1932 in Big Otter, Clay County, WV and was the daughter of Spencer Rose and Ruth Tanner and married David J. Metheney on Jan. 28, 1951.  Dave preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2020.  Rosalee was a faithful member of Grace Cathedral in Akron for nearly 60 years where she had served as a Levite for many of those years.  She was an avid quilter and she is remembered for being a very giving person who loved serving her family, her church and her Lord.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jackson and Nancy Metheney of Norton and Vincent and Colleen Metheney of Cuyahoga Falls; her sisters, Betty and her husband Wayne Dallachiesa of Creston, Eliza Jane Hanshaw of Akron and Janet Count of Akron and a half-brother, Noble Rose of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave; her mother, Ruth Lyons, her father, Spencer Rose; brothers, Virgil, Frank and David Lyons and half-brothers, Leonard and Gene Rose.

Services will be Monday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with Rev.
