Ronald K. Flickinger, 82, passed away on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025 at the Village at Pine Valley in Fort Wayne, Indiana after a brief illness.
Ron was born on Aug 12, 1942 in Parma to Ronald and Ann (Kirschensteiner) Flickinger and graduated from Westfield High School in 1960. On Aug. 7, 1965 he married Sandra Coen and Sandy preceded him in death on May 31, 2017. Ron retired from Packaging Specialties in Medina with over 25 years of service and had made his home in Creston until moving to Fort Wayne. He was an entrepreneur who could turn a hobby into a business. He loved boating and fishing so he started his own charter business on Lake Erie. He and Sandy loved spending time in Las Vegas, so he invested in real estate properties in Vegas. They had been one of the first in the Wayne County area to build storge units. He and Sandy were always devoted to family, especially their grandkids, and he and Sandy enjoyed traveling to destinations, being with grandkids and spending the winter months in the southern states.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Beth Flickinger and their children, Madelyn and Tyler of Matthews, NC and Chad and Angela Flickinger and their son, Sawyer of Fort Wayne and sisters, Cheryl and her husband Jim Ponting of Creston and Lynn Kehoe of Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; his parents and a brother, Robert.
Services will be Friday, Aug. 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Creston Maple Mound Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
