Roman J. Yoder

Roman J. Yoder, 83, of 8559 Bear Hollow Rd., Apple Creek, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2020 at Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.

Roman was born Oct. 28, 1936 in Charm, OH and was the youngest son of John and Katie Ann (Hershberger) Yoder.  He married Sarah E. Burkholder on Nov. 20, 1958 and she survives.  Roman was a member of the Fryburg Christian Fellowship.

Surviving in addition to his wife Sarah are his son and daughter-in-law, Paul David and Colleen Yoder of the home and his daughter and son-in-law, Martha Sue and Mark Miller of Trail. He leaves behind a legacy of 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.  Roman invested his life in people and many called him friend, uncle, cousin, brother and fishing buddy.  Roman and Sarah built their family by adoption and have remained particularly close to several other children who they loved as their own including Roger and his wife Michelle Jones of Milan, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mose and Melvin and sisters, Amanda and Anna and an stillborn sister.

Services will be Monday, Oct. 26th at 9:30 a.m. at Gospel Haven Church, 6871 State Route 241, Millersburg with Bishop Mose Miller officiating.  Burial will be in the Fryburg Church Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Gospel Haven Church.  Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
