Roland J. Urmetz

Roland J. Urmetz, 90, of Fredericksburg, died peacefully at home on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022 after a two month period of declining health.

Roland was born on Jan., 23, 1932 in Cleveland, OH and was the son of Carl and Marie (Schreiner) Urmetz.  He was an accountant at the Cleveland Plain Dealer and had made his home in Independence prior to moving to Fredericksburg in 1989 where he enjoyed gardening and observing nature on his farm.  He was a member of the Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond Urmetz on Dec. 30, 2008.

A private service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 9th with Father Richard Samide officiating.  Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery.  Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg is handling arrangements.
