Roger Eugene Lance

Roger E. Lance, 70, of Largo, FL died peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018 at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Roger was born April 8, 1948 in Wadsworth to the late John L. and Eleanor J. (Woods) Lance and married the former Patricia Ann Holcomb on May 4, 1973. She survives. He graduated from Norwayne High School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 – 1970. Roger retired from Morton Salt in Rittman after 37 years of service and had made his home in Sterling moving to Largo, FL 6 years ago. He was a member the V.F.W., Wadsworth Moose and the K of P in Sterling and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, playing softball and bowling. Roger will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia; children, Richard Lance, Christopher “Chuck” (Lyn) Lance of Nova and Leslie (Felicia Ferraez) Lance of Largo, FL; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his sister and brothers, Judy (Larry) Uhler of Creston, Joel (Jackie) Lance of Wooster and Greg (Pat) Lance of Burbank and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Kimberly and a daughter-in-law, Ann Lance.

Services will be Sunday, Oct. 14that 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston with burial following in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Sunday at the funeral home. Tributes may be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com
